Taco Bell Dollar Menu

Taco Bell Introduces the “$1 Dollar Cravings” Menu charging $5 for some things actually indicates a price rise for this extremely low-cost chain. Taco Bell, which is currently experimenting with a posh fast-casual restaurant model, has decided to go with a dollar menu.

The new “$5 Dollar Cravings Menu” joins the ranks of Wendy’s “Right Price, Right Size” menu and McDonald’s Dollar Menu (which has subsequently become the “Dollar Menu & More”). McDonald’s and Wendy’s both have value menus with items that cost more than a dollar, ranging from $2 to $5.
The Dollar Cravings menu includes 11 dishes, some of which are new to customers and others which have been around for a while. Before this dirt-cheap menu, the chain was already selling 99 Cheese Roll-Ups, Cinnamon Twists, and Cinnabon.

According to TIME, “charging $1 for some things actually marks an increase in price for this extremely low-cost chain.”
“The Crispy Potato Soft Taco, Cinnamon Twists, and Cheese Roll-up were already 99-cent products on the menu.” Cinnamon twists and a slightly different potato taco have been added to the dollar menu, making them a penny more expensive than previously. For breakfast, an order of Cinnabon treats is on the dollar menu, but prior to the ‘upgrade,’ a two-pack of Cinnabon was also available for $1.”

Regardless of whether or not any of these Taco Bell items are genuinely a decent deal, here’s what you can get for a buck:

Note: We’re unconcerned about the menu’s frequent use of artificial cheese, so we can’t tell whether it’s better than, say, McDonald’s discount menu. For the record, the Jalapeño Double Burger could be the most exciting item on the menu.
